Ambulance/Fire Billing

We operate an ambulance/fire service with about 800 medical calls per year and 1200 total calls.

I am doing research to find out how people are handling the billing for emergency services, specifically ambulances.

Questions:

1. Do you do billing in-house or use a billing company? If a billing company, which one and what percentage do they charge and how do you get the information to them? If in-house, is it part-time or full time (how many hours) and what software do you use? Please advise how many calls you run per year.

2. What type of data entry system is being used for the incident report?

3. What collection agency do you use? What percentage?
