Welcome new MAMC Board Members

An election was held for the MAMC Board of Directors at the annual conference this June.  Two new - but probably familiar - faces join the MAMC Board for 2008-2009.  Chris Swope, Lansing City Clerk and

Carolyn Boersma, Spring Lake Township Clerk were elected along with current Board Members Laura Caterina, Tecumseh City Clerk, Dan Kasunic, City of Kentwood Clerk and Jeff Hawkins, Plainfield Township Deputy Clerk. Board Member Nancy Weiss was elected 3rd Vice President.

Approved By-Law changes

The Board of Directors of MAMC submitted paperwork for 501C3 non-profit, tax exempt status from the organization’s existing 501C6 non-profit status.  The change is being sought to relieve the organization of future sales tax requirements.

Members approved the by-law changes at the June 11th business meeting to be held at 1:00 p.m. at the summer conference at Crystal Mountain.
